Jan PusinaFrench HornJan Pusina works as an accelerator operator at the Advanced Light Source, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. He played the horn briefly at the age of 12 and resumed it again at age 55. In the meantime he studied physics and music at U.C. Berkeley, and in 1969 received a Master of Music degree, specializing in music composition. He has composed extensively for electronic media, including live electronic music with instruments, and has recently completed a quartet for four winds. Mr. Pusina recently appeared as soloist with the Albany Community Orchestra performing the Richard Strauss Horn Concerto No. 1. Currently he is co-principal of the Kensington Symphony Orchestra and principal horn with New Millennium Strings. He also plays in several chamber ensembles in the Bay Area. Jan was featured as a soloist in the May 2002 concert of New Millennium Strings. |
