Joseph Gold
Violin Soloist
Joseph Gold achieved international recognition when he was selected to be the private violin soloist for famed tenor Luciano Pavarotti. Mr. Gold served in the dual capacity of concertmaster and director of chamber music at the Spoleto Music Festival in Italy. He has been praised on four continents for his brilliant interpretations of the great repertoire of the 19th century violin virtuosos Paganini, Sarasate, Bazzini and others.
A graduate of the University of Southern California, he studied with the legendary Jascha Heifetz. Mr. Gold has commissioned and premiered many works by contemporary composers. In addition to his worldwide concert tours, Mr. Gold is the author of the definitive books Paganini's Art of Violin Playing and Sarasate, New Light on a Brilliant Star.
