Paul Brinkley

Guitar Soloist

Paul Brinkley began his guitar studies in London, Ontario, where he gave his first professional concerts before graduating from high school. He moved to San Francisco and completed his BA from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and his MA from San Francisco State University.

As an active member of San Francisco's musical community, Mr. Brinkley has performed with the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players and the San Francisco Opera, Ballet, and Symphony. He is also proficient as a classical mandolin player. He has toured nationwide with the Modern Mandolin Quartet and has recorded five CDs with the ensemble.

As an educator, he is an instructor at Mills College, where he was featured as the guitar soloist on the Mills College Centennial Album. Mr. Brinkley's recording credits include contemporary pieces for Opus One Records and Centaur Records, as well as Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony CD of Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet.
