Paul Cheak

Bass

Paul Cheak earned a bachelor of arts degree at Colorado College in 1979 and a master of arts degree from San Diego State University in 1981, both with a major in music. He has performed operatic bass-baritone roles with the Santa Fe Opera Company, the Colorado Opera Festival, the San Diego Opera Company, and the Pacific Lyric Theatre, to mention only some. His repertoire includes Mephistofeles in Gounod's Faust, Germont in La Traviata of Verdi, Dr. Bartolo in the Barber of Seville, and Ike in Sweet Betsy from Pike. Paul has appeared as soloist with such groups as the San Diego Master Chorale, the San Diego Symphony, the Colorado Springs Symphony, and the Soli Deo Gloria Concert Choir. He has conducted choral groups and was a church music director for ten years. He lives with his family in Benecia, California.
